Thanks Geoff - I have looked in our limited reference book and the shape is there but not with the Johnny Walker

logo - it would be very hard to put a value on it as we have not seen one before - there are not many Calyx collectors

out there but having said that they will probably come out of the woodwork for it!!!

Can only hope you get some more responses on this site or put it on ebay and let the collectors decide the final price.

Or there is the Australian Pottery site on Facebook.

Any more help we can give you please do not hesitate to ask.     Lee

Forgot to ask - would you email a photo of the jug and the base to Wembley@westnet.com.au for our records please, and can

we use it under the heading of Calyx  ...   Lee Committee member Wembley ware society.

Hi Geoff as Lee has said not many of these pop up. Where did you get it Geoff, Did you buy it?  I would put it on at a price you would be happy to get for it and let the market decide.Sorry to correct you Lee, we do have an example of this jug on the website that belongs to one of our members. Perhaps we could ask that member what he paid for his, if he remembers and that may give an indication.

Hi Geoff.

On the 25th October 2014 one sold on eBay but under Whisky Jugs for $3,383.00.  It had 3 hairline cracks that were not very visible and a small chip to the base. I have the documentation of that sale. I hope that can be of help.

Sorry Geoff. I forgot to say it was a plain black and white Johnny Walker not coloured like yours.

Not owning one of these Whisky jugs Geoff, I do not know very much about them. But in Thomson`s book he shows two Calyx whisky jugs. Both those shown are the more squatter rounder shaped jugs, so different shaped jug to your one. One is "Old Court Whisky" Jug and the other "Top Notch King George 1V Whisky" Jug. I have never come upon any of these Calyx Whisky jugs in my collecting, but your one looks in very good condition, it is a great piece of Calyx.

Joe Mo was fortunate enough to find a Bristile Ancient Clan Blended Scotch Whiskey jug just recently. Not in the arena with the Calyx ones but too good to pass up for his Bristile Collection

Mo`s is not at old as, but a very good find all the same. I have never seen that one from the Bristile era. Something else to keep an eye out for, if an when one gets to the fairs etc again. But I do not think there are many around or I should have seen one by now.
